I have a little update for y’all. As I previously mentioned, I was recently hired for a position as a server in a new fine dining concept here in Jacksonville. Training began Wednesday, and we’ve been completely immersed in learning and training. 31. October 2009
Happy Halloween from the Princess and the Mouse! Gabi and Joshua had a great time trick-or-treating. This is a post-game picture, as the camera batteries were dead when Gabi still had curl in her hair! It was hot and humid, and Joshua was drenched by the time we got back to the house, but they [...] 30. October 2009
I’ve been in a rut. A deep, muddy, sticky, bog of sameness. For a long while after I took all the Fiddlesticks stuff back up to South Carolina, I wasn’t feeling creative. I still had all these fabulous new fabrics, I still had a (new to me) sewing machine. I had started learning to knit, [...] 8. October 2009
This weekend the kids and I are headed back homeward (that’s South Carolina for all y’all who don’t already know.) HOORAY! We’ve had some awesome news on the family front this past week! Though I’m currently not at liberty to discuss much of it, changes will be coming! The Fiddlesticks business is going back into the loving hands of my sister, as are the Janome embroidery machines, and all the monogramming and personalization! 10. September 2009
I’ve been working on Fiddlesticks projects (or Fiddlestuff, as I like to say) for most afternoons this week. Today, in honor of Dayman’s day off, I escaped the sewing room for a while and we took the kids for a quick jaunt to the beach. Normally we lug chairs and umbrella and beach bag and [...] 31. Oh my, how the summer days have trickled away! And, as the days slowly begin to shorten, my garden is finally producing a bit of wholesome goodness. 25. August 2009
Yesterday was Gabi’s first day of kindergarten. She’s excited about being in Ms. Wilson’s class, and I’m excited to get into a new routine for the school year. All through the summer our days have been relatively unstructured, and bedtime has ranged anywhere from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. |
